Choquecancha Immersive Experience
Starts and ends at Cusco, Peru - 12 days
Back to Nature, down to the roots of mankind.
Imagine immersing yourself in the daily life of a remote community, living the local traditions, learning about ancestral practices, and reconnecting deeply with Nature. Welcome to Choquecancha, an isolated village sitting on an archaeological site in Peru’s Lares Valley, a couple of hours away from the more famous Sacred Valley and almost on the edge of the Amazon rainforest.
The community preserves some of the most magical traditions of the ancient Andean culture, and it thrives through collaboration, communal work, and respect for nature.
You will spend the first week of your trip in the community, each day learning a specific aspect of community life and Andean culture, with activities together with farmers and artisans, in the fields and in the kitchens, as well as traditional ceremonies and evenings around the fire dedicated to astronomy or local legends. As you assimilate the local concept of Ayni (reciprocity), you will give back to your hosting community while learning about ancient knowledge and techniques.
By the end of this cultural immersion, you will have gained enough knowledge and perspective to fully appreciate the extraordinary value of some incredible archaeological sites, such as Machu Picchu, Sacsayhuaman or Pumamarka.
